The collection consists of a certificate from the Army Training Corps at Davidson College (1918), correspondence from F.L. Jackson and Davidson College president, William J. Martin (1921), minutes of the meeting of the Student Body of Davidson College (1921), and an invitation to a cadet supper (1922). The correspondence from Martin and the minutes relate to the question of hazing.

William Joseph Martin Jr., was born in Columbia, Tenn. in 1868, but during his youth his father accepted a position with Davidson College and they moved to Davidson. He was graduated from Davidson College in 1888 and earned an M.A. the following year. In 1890, he earned his M.D. degree from the University of Virginia and four years later he earned his Ph. D.
